Documentary Producer and Director, Writer, Host
Amelia Ellis is a documentary director, producer, podcast producer
for the likes of BBC, Paramount+, Netflix, Channel 4, BFI and Vice.
She is also a writer for the Guardian, Buffalo, Vice, Dazed as well
as presenter / host and a creative producer for magazine editorials
and events.
I adore story-telling and revel in creating emotionally engaging,
innovative and noisey films, demonstrated when I originated a series
format, commissioned by the BBC as a now award-winning, four-part
series. I am passionate about accessible story-telling, delivering
new ideas to the public perspective and uplifting marginalised voices.
I love to step into the world of a contributor and seek out their
incredible story. I have worked on a vibrant plethora of projects from
producing top on screen talent all the way to overseeing
high-risk shoots with Chicago gang leaders on the street and within
jail.
I have produced and hosted a podcast, ‘Close-Up’, have delivered and
presented panels, and have written and produced for the likes of MIF,
Nike, Asos and Sevenstore. Recently, I have also been spotlighted by
Women in Journalism.
